Short Term Missions 2025

Honduras

What & Where: This year the Kirk is returning to Tegucigalpa, Honduras to serve with the Micah Project from May 28th to June 2nd. The Micah Project serves children who live on the streets and cares for them physically, mentally, and spiritually through a variety of programs. One of their more prominent programs is a group home that houses 18 boys ranging in age from 12 to 18 that offers education, counseling, and vocational training to remove them from unsafe situations and offer hope for a different life as they move into adulthood.

Who Can Go: Most spots on this trip are reserved for individuals currently in 8th to 12th grade. We are looking for college-aged students, parents, and grandparents to join and serve on the trip as well! While there is no upper-age limit to this trip, we do require that all applicants are able to walk frequently and without aid.

Application Details: Applications are now open and will close on January 13th. The team will be decided upon no later than January 20th and announced to the group participants.

While we invite anyone to apply, space is limited. Selection to this team will be prioritized based on the following categories: church membership, Kirk ministry involvement, and external evidence of spiritual maturity

Restore Saint Louis

What & Where: The Kirk will be serving with Workday - a ministry of Restore Saint Louis that primarily works with widows and seniors in the Saint Louis area who otherwise do not have access to minor home reports. We will be assisting in work projects across the city that include painting, mowing, building wheelchair ramps, or other light renovation and construction projects. We will be staying overnight with the Restore Saint Louis organization from July 20th to July 24th.

Who Can Go: This trip is open to all members of the church and particularly geared for families in the Next Gen ministry who are currently in 3rd through 8th grade. Middle School students and older may sign up without a guardian, provided parental consent is given. While there is no upper-age limit to this trip, we do require that all applicants are able to assist with general outdoor tasks and can work in the Saint Louis summer heat!
