Who We Are

What does this mean?

Jesus Christ is the ultimate advocate of all believers. He interceded for us by giving his life as a sacrifice so that we can be forgiven of our sins and live in God’s presence. The church and its members are called to make the Gospel known to all people, including and especially its youngest individuals. We, too, are advocates!

Why children?

God made a covenant with Abraham called the Covenant of Grace. In this covenant, God promises that He will be our God, that we will be His people, and that He will live among us. This promise was for Abraham’s offspring which embodied all who believe in Christ—including children! This is what it means to be a “Covenant Child” or an “Heir of the Covenant.” They, the next generation, are rightful inheritors of all the promises of God.

Why does this matter?

Children in the church are like princes and princesses in a kingdom. They are raised in the mindset that they will one day be co-heirs of the kingdom. Consider the difference this makes in comparison to raising a commoner to maybe, hopefully one day to be a co-heir. In the same way, children must hear the good news of God’s promises in the context of the community to which they belong in order for them to receive the Gospel of grace for themselves. God is King, Christ is co-heir, and through Christ we are also co-heirs of His kingdom.

How can we accomplish this?

Only through relationships with our children and by the work of the Holy Spirit can they truly know God and make Him known!

“Kirk Children’s Ministry exists to be an advocate of the Gospel in the lives of the Next Generation. ”

Our Core Values

Making Disciples from Birth

We train children up to live like God’s adopted children by giving them the opportunity to serve the community and encouraging them to tell others the good news of the Gospel.

Living in Community

We bring together every generation of the church to love and serve one another.

Connecting Church & Home

We assist parents in their influence upon their child’s spiritual life.

Teaching

We instruct children to know God and point them to Jesus through God’s redemptive story.

Engaging Children at Different Stages

Each stage brings a new way of learning and growing. God also makes every child unique in the way he or she learns, remembers, and understands. It is our hope to reach your child where he or she is just as God meets us all where we are!
